What to Bring

· A US Coast Guard Approved Life Jacket

· Proper footwear—typically white bottomed gym shoes

· Change of clothing

Who Can Participate

This program is open to adults 18 years or older wishing to learn the basics of sailing.

Program

An evening of on and/or off the water
instruction can be expected. The program focuses on to develop the basics skills of
sailing including docking, boat handling and knots, sail trim and sailing terminology.

Inclement Weather

Safety is the number one priority for the
Sailing School.  Should the weather not be conducive for going out on the water, we encourage participants to join the instructors for a session on land. 

 

Additional Information

Boats

The boats that are used in the adult
program are sturdy keel boats with full
rigging and a motor.  Typical size will be
between 24-28 feet in length.

Instructors

The instructors are US Sailing certified instructors and certified in first aid and CPR.
